Re: What are you listening to?
Many years ago when Victor Feldman was in The Tom Scott band, which played in Southern California a lot, I would have talks with Feldman. He was friendly and nice. Once I asked him if Miles Davis really anything had to do with writing the song Seven Steps to Heaven, a song on a Davis album with the same title. Victor just smiled and didn't comment.
Also nice seeing Bobby Troup. He was in 3 Perry Mason episodes, and I've seen two of them in the last week (one with Martha Vickers and one with Barney Kessell).

Insightful review which seems almost as ahead-of-the-curve as its subject, Allhallowsday...Allhallowsday wrote: ↑January 30th, 2024, 3:59 pm SILVER APPLES

I realize it's probably a stretch as long as the Cahulawassee but I wonder if John Boorman heard the electronica and bluegrass banjo mashup prior or during the production of DELIVERANCE:

Re: What are you listening to?
You apparently found merit in my remark regarding influence of music and film artists. Who knows who composed Electronica in DELIVERANCE, but it's an interesting juxtaposition with banjo... but are they together...? "Ruby" is probably the best track on APPLES' 2nd album.NoShear wrote: ↑January 30th, 2024, 4:53 pm ...SILVER APPLES

Yes, and even when I can't relate to the music being reviewed, the writing style's always interesting.Allhallowsday wrote: ↑January 30th, 2024, 5:07 pmYou apparently found merit in my remark regarding influence of music and film artists. No, Allhallowsday, I don't think the two are ever together. It's the idea of featuring those disparate instruments within the same soundtrack.
As to the electronica in DELIVERANCE, it's John Boorman's synthesizer - possibly programmed by Paul Beaver - if I had to guess. (Beaver and Boorman previously collaborated on "POINT BLANK".)
