Only MGM would have the guts to be that schmaltzy and yet...who else but Frank Morgan could make it look sincere and natural?

He reminded me of the dog who hung out with My Three Sons, but that would have been the dog's great-great-great grandson, I think.

Thanks Mongo. I love the smile on the golden retriever's face--and yes, there is an element of enjoyment conveyed by the dog during the dance. Thanks very much for sharing this one.

Thanks, Kingme and Moira. The dog is amazing and I couldn't believe how she actually stood up on her hind legs throughout the dance and shimmered up and down with her partner. Good stuff.

That was great fun, Nancy! I love these dogs. My 8 month old niece tries to ride her family mastiff without a saddle. He loves it and her.

October is Adopt a Pet month.

I discovered this while reading the wonderfully titled He Could Leap 12 Feet and He Could Leap Through Time over at the movie morlocks page:

Kinda makes you wonder how stars treat their pets?

sad, sad day. My son and I had to take his sweet mutt, Barley, to the vet today for her final trip. She was quite elderly, had a lot of serious health issues, and had started losing control of bodily functions...but none of that makes it any easier. When we sign on to take a four legged friend into our lives, we have to sign on for the whole journey, good times and bad. Its just so awful that the last time is bad. Here's to you, dear Barley. I hope you are having a great, pain free romp with Babe, Molly, Bandit, Butch and Freckles. Give them all a love from me.
