Now -- who remembers, 'cause I don't: At the time this photo was published (I think it was in Cosmopolitan), there was lots of hoo-ha about photos of unclothed men in mainstream publications.

It was indeed Cosmopolitan.

I remember the following exchange on Are You Being Served? (sorry, but text will have to suffice in place of video):

Miss Brahms (about a homely male customer): He wouldn't make the center page of the Cosmopolitan.
Mrs. Slocombe: Now that's something I just don't understand. Why anyone would want to buy a women's magazine with a picture of a nude man. Oh, I think it's awful.
Miss Brahms: I thought Burt Reynolds looked quite sexy.
Mrs. Slocombe: Well, you couldn't see anything. His arm was in the way.
