I recently saw the giallo Un Detective AKA Detective Beli AKA Ring of Death (1969), which has a fabulous Jazzy score, featuring a trumpeter that sounds very much like Chet Baker. I know Baker was in Italy at this time (and always needed money for drugs), so it's very possible that it's his work. Unfortunately, I found none of the ballads on youtube, which seem to be more reflective of Baker's style (one which plays as a man discovers a murder victim is especially poignant), only the main theme:
