She's pretty easy on the eyes as well. I'm more likely to watch her Essentials sequences than any of the previous hosts.

I would bet that at least two of us, if not all three, would pick something by Ford.
Depends. Are we assuming that I already own Beyond the Valley of the Dolls?
Not to mention trying to find that rare copy of the Criterion Collection Special Edition of Kindergarten Cop with the commentary track by Drew Casper.

Aaaaggghhhh!!

My ears, my ears.

Drew put us to sleep in his class twenty five years ago and his commentaries can do that today.

I prefer Rick Jewell over Drew any day of the week.

But that's another thread!

Sigh...I thought you had learned by now (lord knows, I've tried to set you straight) that John Ford isn't even the best American director whose name begins with "F". For the umpteenth time, it's F-U-L-L-E-R.

Howdy Chi-O my darlin', o my darlin', o my daaaaarlin' Clementine...

I'm so sorry I am such a sad case. Does it raise me in your estimation if I tell you I watched TABU a couple of weeks ago, by another "F-ing" director?

Odd. I think of TABU as by the best "M" director (apologies to Anthony Mann and Jean-Pierre Melville) because the "F" director left mid-production.

But it's a start. Seen THE LAST LAUGH yet?

I 'm glad you people keep saying AMERICAN directors. Otherwise you'd be up against David Lean. .... mel

Nope. I only saw Tabu because I like stories set in the South Pacific.

And at the risk of losing ALL of your respect, Mankiewicz (Joe) get's my "letter". :P
