I'm not a fan of Reynolds, and I am a fan of Crawford, but...if I were alone in a dark alley in a strange town, there's one of them in that photo I would hope not to meet.

Re: *CANDIDS*
I met Debbie Reynolds and she couldn't be nicer. ;) It's a longish story. My boss is a fiction writer and playwright and one of his novels was made into a film a couple of years ago. (It's been on the festival circuit but hasn't been released theatrically -- yet.) One day the director of the movie arrived in Atlanta and found himself talking to a little lady by the baggage claim. He didn't realize who she was until she told him -- she was Debbie Reynolds. She was here because she had a concert date with the Atlanta Symphony. She was very taken by the director (he's a cute young guy) and gave him her cell phone number (!!) and told him to call her the next day and she'd get him tickets. He called, she said how many tickets do you want? how about three? he said fine, and she said they'd be waiting at the box office. So the director called my boss the writer and invited him, and then my boss invited me to be the third person because he knew I'd be over the moon to attend the concert and meet Debbie Reynolds -- we were going to go down to the dressing rooms afterwards. Well, I was so excited I could barely contain myself. ;) We all went to the concert, had a great time -- Debbie can still belt out a tune and her patter about her life and showbiz was very amusing -- and then we went were escorted downstairs to the dressing room area and waited in the hallway. Eventually she came out and we all complimented her on the concert. I had brought some DVDs along but was too shy to ask her to autograph them but my boss has no fear and told her I'd brought them along, and she said sure, she'd sign them. So now I have autographed DVDs of Singin' in the Rain and The Tender Trap. :)
You could tell she was tired from the concert but she looked great -- she was 72 -- and still recognizably Debbie from all those old movies. And she took time to see us and spend a moment with us even though she'd just spent two hours wowing the audience. I'll never forget THAT evening! ;)

I'm sorry but Kirk is really creepy in that shot. I think he ought to get together with Joan from a few photos back.

Carole never looked more beautiful than in that final film.
