And this now prompted me to internet search the answer to: What year did tennis balls become yellow?

As I only had a vague recollection of it being sometime in the early to mid-'70s, the answer I found was 1972.

The view out one of the front windows of my house taken 10 minutes ago, and the result of Pacific atmospheric rivers when they hit the higher elevations of northern Arizona, and why my tennis matches were once again cancelled today...WAAH!

Nice photo. My wife started playing tennis about 2 years ago. Thursday night is her weekly practice \ game sessions, and she is hoping the courts are dry, so they don't have to cancel.

Hey, don't you have access to any indoor courts? E.g. where do you play during those hot summer days?

The weather guy on KTVU in Oakland, CA. mentioned snow in Sedona this morning.

And, nice to hear someone is taking up tennis now days, as it sometimes seems the sport is dwindling in numbers as Pickleball is gaining so many new players, and besides the idea that I don't seem to see that many young people taking up tennis much anymore nor as much as they used to. The courts at the newby Cottonwood Rec Center, which is about half an hour's drive from my home here, is where I've primarily played for about a dozen years now, but a few years ago the rec center changed two of the four courts there into Pickleball configuations and considering how fast that sport has taken off recently.

And re the indoor courts, there's aren't any in the Verde Valley at all. I'd guess this might be because of the very temperate climate around here. Remember here, we're usually anywhere from 10 to 15 degrees cooler than they are down in the Phoenix area.

How we manage the variations in temps during the year is that during the late-spring, summer and early-fall months we begin playing at 8am and play until about 10:30am. By the time we're done it's usually hitting the high-80s or low-90s. And then and as the weather begins to cool throughout the year, by mid-winter we're starting at 1pm and when the usual temps tend to be in the low to mid-50s.

Nah, not really, NS. Ya see, I'm not one of those "win at all costs" kind'a guys. Never have been, in fact. I've always been more the kind'a guy who's prized playing a well-played match by all involved, than I have the idea of who wins and who loses. Although, it does always feel better to win a well-played-by-all set and/or match, of course.

Now, over the years I have played with people like that. I've noticed they're prone to resort to making questionable line calls and always in their favor.

(...and when they do that, I lose respect for them...both as a player and as a person)

On Sunday, someone will not win the Superbowl.
Companies will pay 7 million bucks for a 30 second spot.
Going to the game costs something like $6500 as a starting price.
For the record, I have no clue who Usher is but have seen Reba in concert.

The seats were in the end zone. When an offense was playing near my end zone they were pretty close. The other end zone was at the turnstile end (of the Los Angeles Colosseum) where there were no seats.

So if someone made a terrible throw, you may have caught a "fowl ball." That makes you at least 21+57, right?

In two months, I will be 21+59.

If you're referring to the east end of the L.A. Coliseum here laffite, the one where the column for the Olympic flame is located, that is known as the "peristyle" end of the stadium, not the "turnstile" end.
