Well, there's something I thought I'd never see: a less-than-flattering angle on young Liz Taylor's face.

I like your disclaimer, many, many stars varied their birthdate and I suppose the longer ago they were born and where they were born adds to the difficulty of knowing the absolute truth.
Failure is unimportant. It takes courage to make a fool of yourself - Charlie Chaplin

Re: *CANDIDS*
Hi Joe,
Only saw Vilma Banky once, at Marion Davies funeral; she looked great, blonde and peaches & cream complexion. She must have been in her 60's then...
Vilma was a true recluse - never seen nor heard from. Norma Talmadge was much the same.
I've heard though that Vilma was a great golfer and often played with Betty Blythe....
Also heard that she played golf twice with Joan Fontaine and that Joan got a hole-in-one both times and Vilma wouldn't play with her again.
Just more useless information out of my cobwebs (what passes for my brain now!!).....

Re: *CANDIDS*
Larry, Vilma married actor Rod La Rocque in 1927; they remained married until his death in 1969, after which she became reclusive. A rare happy union.
By the way, we love those cobwebs.

YIKES! Poor Edward Dmytryk directing divas Bette Davis and Susan Hayward in
"Where Love Has Gone" (1964). He should have won a special Oscar.

Re: *CANDIDS*
As a college freshman, I had a suit almost identical to the one Bette's wearing. It was ORANGE boucle, with a PINK satin lining....wooooooohooooooo!!!!!!
Re: *CANDIDS*
.
Hey Witty, knitty:
Don't knock the suit. Sophomore (second) year of sewing in high school, we had to make a woman's three piece suit, with the lining of the jacket being the same material as the blouse. THAT was the suit I chose, with the same blend of hot pink, orange, and yellow with just a touch of lime green, and a kind of dripping pink water color on a wet white wall. I got an A, it must have been a popular look that year.
