I see what you are saying, but Jack came before those two. Brad's got a sexy creepy thing going on though, I'll admit. :D

True dat! True dat.

I thought he and Rosalind Russell in "Roughly Speaking" were as perfect a team as Powell and Loy or Tracy and Hepburn. Have you ever seen it?

Sexy creepy. Not that that's a bad thing...right?

 Drama....."MILDRED PIERCE" "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF"
 Comedy..."MY DREAM IS YOURS" "STAND-IN"

Yes, Jack Carson could do it all. You were an actress...you know how remarkably difficult that is to be convincing in both genres. These folks (and others) had the knack: William Powell (your baby), Myrna Loy, Ann Sheridan, Gable, Ray Milland, Lombard, Colbert, Doris Day, Jack Lemmon...Walter Matthau...Cary Grant...etc. Can you think of anymore off the top of your head?

Jimmy Cagney, Thomas Mitchell, John Qualen, Frank Morgan, James Gleason, JOE Calleia.

Marlene, Elizabeth Taylor(she's really funny!) Marilyn.

Off the top of my head.

This is one pure example why I love about Old Hollywood in the 40's; the fashion ... Cary Grant in that stylish pin-striped suit and tie squarely away and looking very, very dapper. Ava Gardner with her hair deliciously waved, groomed, and wearing very chic outfit that's so complimentary to Cary Grant that they look like a million bucks and more.

Fashions, Hair Styles, and Image ruled supreme those days and that's sorely lacks in many current stars of today of which they are too darn casual. This photograph that MongoII shared today is surefire winner of proper attire of stars should be out in public eye! I just love this photo!
