Either she was a member or this was the day she was trying out for the role of Jean-Paul Sartre.

Hi,

I don't think it was generally known that Ava wore glasses... But, with the beret addition, she could have been a Sartre wanna-be!!!

One wonders why todays birthday girl Wendy Barrie was laid to rest with Fay Templeton?
Stage star Miss Templeton was played by Irene Manning in "Yankee Doodle Dandy",
if you recall.

They are buried in the Actor Fund Plots in Vahalla cementary outside NYC. I have been there a few times and seen all the actors/actresses who are buried there, usually 2 names on a stone. I think they had no money so the actors fund paid for it. Many name everyone would recognize.

What a shame such things happen. I'll bet there are more women there than men. There was that long stretch when scripts were just not being written for women and the few that were, went to the tip top of the list like Stanwyck, Davis, Crawford, etc. But I think a part of the problem was that actors and actresses just refused to do lesser movies and sooner or later found themselves with no work. Many turned to T.V. as Loretta Young did, and I wonder whose idea it was for Barbara Stanwyck to star with Elvis in Roustabout, which was released in 1964 while The Big Valley premiered in 1965 and The High Chapparal in 1967. Someone had enough smarts to awaken old memories.
