It's gotta be Welles -- the ever-present cigar, in a grocery store no less.

But is that really Bogdanovich? Was his ascot at the cleaners?

Roy's palomino was one of the most beautiful animals I've ever seen in movies.

He was a beautiful animal. I remember seeing him in Houston when I was five at the Houston Fat Stock Show and Rodeo, now named Houston Rodeo. If it wasn't the real Trigger, it was trained just like him. I remember how the lights just glistened on his coat, and how high he jumped up when he and Roy first came out from behind the screen. Lovely.

Lovely picture of Miriam Hopkins, a page back, Joe. I've never seen her in a bad movie, she's one of my favourite of the precode actresses, so naughty, especially caught between Gary Cooper and Fredric March.

The story goes that everytime Big Tor came to visit Ed Wood and Dolores Fuller they were afraid when he had to use the bathroom facilities. He had a tendency to break the toilet seat with his huge bulk. Dolores swore to me this was true - also his enormous appetite. Not so bad when he was visiting, but when he and wife Gerda had you over as a guest they would become somewhat insulted if you could not keep up with them in the consuming of food department.

Orson would have made a good dinner guest.

Oh yes, Joe, Tor was a pussycat, according to Dolores. Probably why he was called in wrestling The Swedish Angel.

That much hair? Smiling (not cynically)? Not the Sterling Hayden I know and love.
