Juliet Mills in the shadow of father and sister

Post by stuart.uk »

just a little tribute to Juliet Mills, who has all her life lived in the shadow of father John and sister Hayley

Juliet made her first film playing John's baby son in In Which We Serve, the great Naval propaganda movie of 1941.

However, unlike her kid sister, she had to wait to adulthood before things started to happen. she made two Carry-On spin-offs Twice Around The Daffodills, playing a nurse to TB patients and the underrated Nurse On Wheels, a delightful romantic comedy about a District nurse falling for landowner Ronald lewis. Juliet did make a Carry-On film Carry-On Jack with Bernard Cribbens and Kenneth Williams in a Naval spoof about the Napolean wars.

in the mid 60s Juliet followed her sister not only to Hollywood, but played Maureen O'Hara's daughter in western The Rare Breed. TRB was her first and remains probably her best film to date. Juliet's most famous role was as Nanny to Richard Long's children in the tv series Nanny And The Professor.

Juliet made several tv movies. one that stands out was where she again played a nurse, who this time helps alcholic Natalie Wood recover in the outstanding The Cracker Factory.

One thing that caught me by surprise was a little scene in Billy Wilder's "Avanti." She went for a swim. She has a lovely figure.
