Rep. Peter DeFazio ( D - Or ) has called for the firing of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and chief White House economic advisor Lawrence Summers. Geither was President of the NY Federal Reserve Bank at the time of AIG's near breakdown and was severly critized by the Goverment IG about his mishandling of the meltdown. The Fed is a private concern, not a government agancy and now that he was defeated last week Governor Jon Corzin ( Goldman Sachs - NJ ) will likely go back to the public sector and continue the rape of the US economy .
