This morning TCM showed MGM's Thats Entertainment, with many clips from great, & some not so great MGM musicals. A clip was shown from MGM's " Show Boat " with William Warfield singing " Old Man River ", while Mr Warfield was very good, IMHO it is no where near the supurb rendering of this great classic by Paul Robeson in James Whale's version of " Show Boat " done for Universal starring Irene Dunne.
