The barista who did that Mary Astor latte is, IMO, the Michelangelo of Caffè Latte Art. Astounding, incredible, and impressive!
Those are done by machines called drink printers. Here's one:

Haha! Only time will tell, EP.
I always drop by Larry Edmunds at least twice during the festival. Jeff or Sean can always find what I’m looking for if it’s not in the shop.

I visit the Larry Edmunds shop at least once a year (I'm 60 miles south of it). Must see for studio-era movie fans. Most of the "stuff" I have is from that shop.

That’s great, jamesjazzguitar! I’ve found several books and lobby cards there for a project I’ve been working on. And I always spend too much when I walk through the doors. ;)
Living so close would constantly tempt me.

More from 2016..
Image
Lee Meriwether spent quite a bit of time talking to me on the Red Carpet about her experiences making Batman with Adam West, and discussed the making of The Undefeated with Rock Hudson, John Wayne, and LA Rams quarterback Roman Gabriel. Parts of the production in Durango were hot, dusty, and rough, but she said they all had fun after the shooting was over with for the day.
She adored working with Adam West.

Thanks for sharing the pix, Sue Sue.

Regarding the latest batch, color me amazed that Rita Moreno could still fit into the same gown after 56 years!

It appears to me that the wall in the Academy Cafe seemed to be dedicated to Fanny Brice.

It was, EP. Thank you. Don’t know if they changed them by now,,though. I’m hoping they leave them. The cafe is called Fanny’s: https://www.fannysla.com/

Moreno’s gown was made in The Philippines where Moreno was filming before the Oscars presentation in ‘62.

FYI: Thelma Ritter knew Fanny Brice and once went to dinner with her and a few others…like the Rouben Mamoulians…

Keep in mind that Streisand was a donor: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movie ... 235017481/

The name says it all - it's named after Fanny Brice.

Yes! The ambience and devotion to her is apparent. I hope they keep up the tributes in the space.

They even had Fanny Brice’s chicken soup the day I was there. It just has to be better than L.B. Mayer’s! 😉

The "Barbara Streisand Bridge."

I wonder, when you stand on it on a clear day you can see forever?

WhattumItalkin'! It's Los Angeles! There are no clear days!
The real views are from the Dolby Terrace (which you get to by crossing on the Streisand Bridge), and the terrace sits on top of the Geffen Theatre. To me, the whole thing looks lik the front of the spaceship Discovery from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It’s a marvel! Yes, quite futuristic!

And the view just seemed to transport me to a different time and place, and the guests, too. When visitors would walk out from the bridge, they would always exclaim “Ahh” or “Wow!”

So “A View From The Bridge” is worth a visit. 😉
