Re: Sue Sue's TCM Film Festival Tidbit Travel Blog
I saw Scarecrow on its original release back in the day.
It's a modern road picture with terrific performances by Hackman and Pacino. Pacino plays a "Lenny" like character as I recall. There is some violence towards the end of the film.
I've always wanted to see it again but it has never been available on home video as far as I know.
So, it is one of the films at the FF that I am looking forward to!

This one is on my list too, if it doesn't conflict with The Narrow Margin, It, Bugs Bunny, Theodore Bikel, Polly Bergen, the Zanuck doc, Hondo, I Am Suzanne, The Ladykillers, Ann Blyth, Jonathan WInters, The Razor's Edge, River of No Return, The Seventh Seal, Three Days of the Condor, special Club TCM panels, or the footprint ceremony. Whew!
Already the painful choices.....

Re: Sue Sue's TCM Film Festival Tidbit Travel Blog
Is it really so painful? In looking at the list of films, I have very definite 'must sees'. I imagine there may be one or two that might conflict, but really, I think we all have certain films that trump others. But then again, I've never been to the festival - when presented with the choices I might just have mental meltdown after thinking I knew exactly what I wanted to see. I imagine the harder part would be the ones that aren't as high on our lists....

Excellent point, Jackie. I agree with your comments completely. Once "into the mix," a passholder hears such different personal motivations from others that it indeed confuses the plan. And I am talking to all the folks I can, and hearing all of their ideas, some wonderful, some slanted and confused, but certainly full of emotional decisions steeped in their psyches.
Lynn is always more confident and steadfast in her choices, which I definitely admire. I am like the quicksilver social butterfly confused by the the sparkly and the shiny.

Exactly! I think my usual bold decision followed by a lot of foolish second guessing the closer it was to showtime would be my downfall.
Re: Sue Sue's TCM Film Festival Tidbit Travel Blog
I have had to make the decisions of Solomon at the TCM Film Fest once I had their schedule in my hot little hands. It definitely tore some flesh from my heart when I had to choose between something and Marsha Hunt or something and Rhonda Fleming. I think the festival programmers plan out the film schedule with sadistic glee. Grrrr! I hate that I...love...the...pain.

OK, so it IS a difficult decision! I doubt I could do it, I am terrible at making decisions, most often I try to opt for both of what I want, but in this case, sadly I wouldn't be able to cop out like that.

It is so adorable, and typical of the "sarape" stripes popular at the time. Remember the cute little number from How To Marry A Millionaire? And also a little reminiscent of that Madge Rapf number from Dark Passage. Rita Hayworth also had several outfits that featured some of that fabric, even as an accessory. Looks like that brushed satin material.

EVA MARIE SAINT!! What class she had.
AGNES MOORHEAD - put together nicely. Hair, make-up, and that chain around her throat is to die for.
I thought Aggie looked very smart in that picture even though she was a royal B. It's one of my favorite roles of hers along with "Caged." What an actress. Two different roles as far apart as Stanislavski can get'cha!LA FASHIONISTA APPLEGATE wrote:...And also a little reminiscent of that Madge Rapf number from Dark Passage..."
