What a fantastic article! I adore Mary, and have been watching her performances afresh lately. She always has at least one "moment" in each movie - some small bit of business in each film that you never forget.

I always wondered if she really played the piano, because of The Great Lie. She does something no one else does when pretending to play - she warms up her hands.

Good stuff, Lynn. Thanks for sharing it with us. I adore Mary Astor too, especially in "The Great Lie".
