Very nice photos. Judy was, perhaps, the most beautiful of her illustrious career in this movie. I cringe at some of her movies when she obviously over dieted and looks gaunt. I like my women with meat on them, not that she was fat because she was not.

They're screencaps. :) It's my current screencapping project. ;)

With Vincent Minnelli directing and George Folsey as cinematographer, Judy could be nothing less than beautiful. :)

Knitwit, do you mean the girl in blue in these two pictures? (Found them on the web, they're not screencaps I made.)

If that's who you mean, I have no idea who she is. IMDB lists Helen Gilbert as "Girl on Trolley (uncredited)"

Here's Helen Gilbert:

Doesn't look like the same person, though.

I've never understood why Helen Gilbert is credited, and our pretty lady in blue isn't. She has a close up, interacts with Judy, gives Tom Drake her seat, but nothing is written about her. She was in several MGM musicals, always the "re-acter" with a million dollar smile, but no one seems to know who she is. Maybe someday.......

Alas, I have no idea who the mysterious Lady in Blue is.

But you will see a lot of screencaps of her eventually. :)

Anyone else know who she is?

Thank Warner Home Video for putting out such a wonderful DVD. ;) I hope they're thinking about a Blu-ray one of these days. ;)

Helen Gilbert seems to be the lady with blond tresses and in dark blue. The girl you are referring to is the one on the right (on profile) with the light mauve/lilac outfit -in the second and bigger picture-, Knitty?

These are great screen caps, Paula. Could you please include some of the Halloween sequence when you have a chance? Thanks so much for making these high-quality images.

And a few selections from the latest batch...

Nice day at the office, dear?

I'm not sure which one is cuter. :)

The Yale man calling "long distance" from New York. If this were taking place today, he'd be texting and he'd be wearing a baseball cap, tee shirt, shorts and flip-flops and probably wouldn't have shaved for a day or two.
Image

And she'd be wearing a tight low cut tank top, shorts and flip-flops.

Esther so very carefully doesn't notice the boy next door

I hear Bing Crosby singing "True Love" right about now

Knitwit, isn't that our Mystery Lady in the ruffly orange... what ARE those things? She's very prominently featured (though without any dialogue) in the "Skip to My Lou" number
