BATTLE OF THE BLONDES.

Strawberry, ash, honey. And then there is platinum. She is hot, icy, brassy, cool, sultry, bombshell, bottle, wise-cracking and Hitchcock. There are all manner of adjectives attached to...The Blonde. She is desired...envied, objectified and derided. She must often prove herself. Whether she’s a perennial starlet or well-accomplished; vamp or pure as the driven snow, even the word (Blonde) itself is an adjective. Society (or Clairol or is that Revlon?) has anointed her different from all others. This November, TCM will feature the theme: BATTLE OF THE BLONDES. Battle? What battle? There is no battle. All of these actresses have left their mark on movies and on many a person. I did leave out one adjective, because it’s not apropos here. I think all these ladies are smart as a fox.

BUT just remember this...there WAS one defector among them. And how ironic she left her golden tresses behind, and became even more successful as a raven-haired beauty.

Wow, what a line up..

Are you referring to Joan Bennett as the blonde who went dark? OOOOH, she was in Dark Shadows, too!......

Folks, if I've missed a blonde let me know and I'll add her on.

Hi Theresa,

Great thread; thanks....

I didn't know if we were supposed to vote for our favourite(s) or not; but I'll put in my 2 cents worth....

As a barker at a carnival would say: "Each and every one a beauty!!"...

I've always been in love with Ursula Andress and I'll stay loyal to her.
Next I must mention Virna Lisi; I'd forgotten about her but your photo of her brought back my lustful memories of her in my younger days!!!
I must stay loyal also to Lana, my neighbour in Malibu; lots of fun & beach tanning and scrambled eggs (the only thing we both knew how to cook!!).....

A question: was Joan Fontaine a blonde or light brownette??? Should she be here or did I miss her?

Thanks again,
Larry

Bottle of the Blondes? Anyway, I'm not sure if I spotted one of my favorite blondes:
JANET LEIGH. Is she in there?

Let me redeem myself a little by thanking you for what was obviously a time consuming task. Well done.
