Oscar's Living Chosen Ones - Fifty Years Ago and Before

Post by Vecchiolarry »

Hi,

With Oscar looming upon us in the next two months, I wondered who's still living from 50 years ago and before....

Leafing thorugh the nominees and winners before 1962, I have come up with this list.
Please correct or add to it, as it's not written in cement!!!

30's:
Luise Rainer - winner
Mickey Rooney - nominee

40's:
Joan Fontaine - winner
Olivia De Havilland - winner
Celeste Holm - winner
Angela Lansbury - nominee
Ann Blythe - nominee
Kirk Douglas - nominee

50's:
Ernest Borgnine - winner
Joanne Woodward - winner
Dorothy Malone - winner
Eleanor Parker - nominee
Nancy Olsen - nominee
Lee Grant - nominee
Julie Harris - nominee
Terry Moore - nominee
Leslie Caron - nominee
Marisa Pavan - nominee
Carroll Baker - nominee
Patty McCormack - nominee
Russ Tamblyn - nominee
Sydney Portier - nominee
Shirley MacLaine - nominee
Martha Hyer - nominee
Cara Williams - nominee
Doris Day - nominee
Robert Vaughn - nominee
Susan Kohner - nominee
Juanita Moore - nominee

60's to 1962 only:
Maximilian Schell - winner
Sophia Loren - winner
Shirley Jones - winner
George Chakiris - winner
Rita Moreno - winner
Patty Duke - winner
Glynis Johns - nominee
Shirley Knight - nominee
Stuart Whitman - nominee
Piper Laurie - nominee
Peter O'Toole - nominee
Omar Sharif - nominee
Mary Badham - nominee

Of course, some of these nominees went on to win Oscars later than 1962; but I'm only doing those living from before 50 years ago...
