I agree that it's a safe bet that Will Smith will not be invited to the screening.

I didn't watch the Golden Globes, but I did hear about Eddie Murphy's tips for success and thought it was hilarious. A while back I saw birthday napkins that featured a silhouette of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock and it said "Keep my age out of your f-ing mouth." I thought they were hilarious.

I'm sure that it's inevitable that they'll show more films for their anniversary, so I'm really hoping that they show "Safety Last!" for its 100th birthday. Harold Lloyd's granddaughter, Suzanne, could introduce it.

I'm also hoping since it's a Warner Brothers celebration that there will be at least one Errol Flynn film I'm sure if there is, they'll show "The Adventures of Robin Hood," which I'd happily see; but I'm kind of hoping that they show "Gentleman Jim." Lol.

I'm here for the precode and Old Acquaintance, and maybe Airport. That sounds like it could be really fun.

AIRPORT would be fun to see on "the big screen." It's very entertaining and Helen Hayes as stowaway is a hoot. She's my favorite character in the movie.
This movie is (I think) the first of the all-star cast disaster movies that were popular in the 1970s.
The one that I would love to see in the theater is AIRPORT 1975. It's the one where Karen Black is the flight attendant (what was then called stewardess) who has to fly the plane because all of the cockpit crew are either dead or incapacitated. It's also the one where Gloria Swanson plays herself as one of the plane's passengers.

I'm not a big fan of OLD ACQUANITANCE although I like the scene where Bette Davis shakes Miriam Hopkins.
The Davis/Hopkins movie that I'd enjoy seeing in a theater is THE OLD MAID.

I imagine seeing THE RED SHOES on the "big screen" would be visually stunning. The colors in that movie are so vibrant.

I couldn't agree more! The Red Shoes (1948) is absolutely gorgeous, and would be a real treat to see on the big screen.
I would also love to be there for Ikiru (1952), one of my favorite Kurosawa films.

Enjoyed the new updates for the fest. I’m excited about seeing Airport in 70mm and Russ Tamblyn introducing his films…
And House of Wax in 3D is sure to be a popular event!

I'm hoping for another announcement. I need all the information. Lol.

The full schedule usually comes out about two weeks ahead of the event - sometimes a little later...

I heard that the full schedule is released ~two weeks ahead of time. I am just impatient and want to know more! Lol. Actually what I really want to know is if/when discounted WB Studio tours will be offered, because I want to make a reservation. I'm actively planning my itinerary for the days leading up to the film festival and like to have all my reservations and potential plans in place. I've already got two dinner reservations made, I'll be making a third one next month when I'm 30 days out.

Ooh that's exciting. Thank you Sue Sue. Do you know if they will be offering discounted WB Studio Tours this year? I know that they did last year.

I'd be surprised if the festival wasn't hoping to get Cindy Williams to attend the screening of AMERICAN GRAFFITI. Sadly, that's not going to happen now. She'd wanted to be cast as Debbie Dunham, the role that ultimately went to Candy Clark (who received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination).

I'm sure they'd love to have George Lucas attend the screening.
AMERICAN GRAFFITI was the first movie from his production company Lucasfilm, which today is almost synonymous with the STAR WARS franchise.
Over 11% of the movie's budget was spent on acquiring music licensing rights. Thankfully, Universal, the movie's distributor, wasn't able to convince George Lucas to use "sound-alikes" in place of original period recordings.

I'm a big STAR WARS fan, but it's interesting to ponder what Lucas's filmography would have been if STAR WARS had not exceeded his expectations and became the phenomenon that it is.
Harrison Ford (who would go on to play Han Solo in the STAR WARS movies and Indiana Jones in another Lucas franchise) agreed to take the role of Bob Falfa in AMERICAN GRAFFITI only if he didn't have to cut his hair. That's the reason his character wears a Stetson in the movie.

I saw Carmen Jones was announced. I'm not the biggest fan of Carmen Jones, only because I hate how they dubbed Harry Belafonte's voice. I'm happy that Donald Bogle is receiving the Robert Osborne Award. I'm not sure if Bogle receiving that award is enough of a draw for me to see a movie I'm just meh about. If Harry Belafonte were announced as a special guest, then I would bump Carmen Jones to the top of my list. Who knows, if the other movies scheduled against Carmen Jones aren't exciting, I may be going to that film anyway.
