"Where are you from?" "Where are you headed?" And the only answer you need make is to point.
Sure, I'll take this action/adventure film any day. One thing has always intrigued me: how many Westerns have as their hero a guy named Chris?

Now, I'll confess something. As many times as I've watched TMS I've never made it through any of the sequels. Am I missing anything? Thanks.

For what it's worth, as much as I love THE MAGIFICENT SEVEN, I've never made it through the sequels either. The original was so good in every way, how could they top it?

I watched The Magnificent Seven 2016 on the big screen local theatre. Denzel Washington whom I consider a bankable actor was the lead in the movie.
Certainly not as good as the 1960 version but was a good popcorn flick.

This movie's score and the one for The Big Country.

Sometimes it takes a couple of guys from Brooklyn -- not to mention Aaron Copland -- to get the West to sound right!

Good point, Brian!

Funny thing though about this being that I've always gotten the feeling that pretty much all the classic film era western genre composers could trace back their own inspirations to a certain composition written by a gentleman who hailed from Prague.
