Thanks, it wasn't so much the Signoret , Montand clue, more the film made in France made me think of Costa Gravas .Dargo, I was going to pass to you but you said you didnt want to do the next one.

Clue- as a young man, he comes to NY expecting to have a job
He doesnt get it but a young woman intervenes on his behalf , he's hired.

Excuse me here skimpole, but kind'a like Fred Gwynne asks in that one coutroom comedy about "youts", what exactly is a "sowing machine"? ;)

Would it be something I wouldn't know about because I was never a farmer?

(...although as a kid, I DO once remember one spring day planting some corn stalks in the backyard of our suburban Los Angeles home...that's when my mom told be I couldn't harvest until it grew "as high as an elephant's eye"!)
