I didn't say the characters are hateful; I said I hate them. The 130 or so minutes they were in my life was 130 minutes too long. They're exhausting, and George and Martha especially are sociopathic.

I meant hateful in the sense of deserving the hatred of others. I don't take them that seriously in the first place,
so it would be silly of me to have much of an emotional reaction to them. I see George and Martha as game
players. They like to stage a series of scenes for their guests and see what happens. Not that they also don't have
some problems of their own which might merit time with a skilled therapist. I don't see them as sociopaths either,
since their behavior doesn't much affect other people. George is a frustrated middle age academic who has to put
up with a nasty father-in-law and a bored wife, Martha. Honey and Nick will have to figure out things on their own.
