what makes it so fascinating, is its crystal-clear insight into what goes on behind the scenes during the filming of modern-day big-budget movie blockbusters
As many of you already know, I have zero respect for Tom Hanks as an actor.
I used to like him in Bosom Buddies but I was a teen and he was cute in it.

Years later, I dated someone who had worked on a couple of movies in the late 80's with Hanks and heard an "insider's" view:
He sat around like a diva most of the time, had zero camaraderie with his fellow actors, wouldn't rehearse/run through. His brother was his stand-in and if Hanks prepared at all, was with his brother.

Most of his takes were alone and short- only a few lines. And he just reads words, he did not even try convincing anyone with any acting prowess.
Maybe that works for him, Hanks certainly has personal charm & charisma. But if you watch him really watch & listen to him, his acting is unconvincing-in fact- pretty darn terrible!

Unless he's changed or matured, I expect little from his writing.

I'm glad you enjoyed the book.
The audiobook from either Downpour or Libro.fm is high priced, as if it's a quality read (or should I say listen).
My ear-sight is better than my eye-sight.
I'm not crazy about Tom Hanks but have seen some okay films from him.
There are plenty I have not viewed.
He can't sing or dance. I mean really.
