I hope the version of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon that airs in the one in Standard Chinese with English subtitles rather than the English-dubbed version.

I think it will be the original. TCM does not really go for dubbed cuts.

They've updated the schedule. Premieres of The Big Lebowski, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Punch Drunk Love among others.

Except for The Big Lebowski (1998), all the other movies listed above are part of TCM's Columbia Pictures 100th Anniversary spotlight airing each Wednesday in January.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Punch-Drunk Love are schedule for the evening dedicated to the 2000s.

I "opened" my January TCM Now Playing email this morning. Nice write up by Donald Liebenson about Robert Mitchum as SOTM. Mitchum is my favorite actor so I may be biased, but he made many, many absolutely great movies and TCM is showing some of them.
Yet another example of greatest actors, actresses, directors and screenwriters never winning an Oscar.

Is TCM showing The Big Steal? (which I believe is one of your favorite Mitchum films).

I'm hoping TCM shows Where Danger Lives (1950 - RKO). While only an OK film, it does feature Faith Domergue. Yea, she wasn't a great actress, by any means, but I find her deadpan style appealing. The film also has Claude Rains. He is only featured in one key scene, but it is a well-directed one and the contrast in acting style of Mitchum and Domergue, with that of an animated Rains is well worth seeing.

As you can see, there are 46 films and not 47 as stated in the article. The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973) is mentioned in the article but was not scheduled this month, so that might be the difference.

I found a gap in the online schedule late on Jan. 30 and I see that TCM's Now Playing mailing shows The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973) is scheduled that evening. The list of Mitchum films above is updated.

It appears TCM has stopped listing the daytime themes in their Now Playing mailing that comes out on the 1st of the month.

I am stumped to come up with a daytime theme for Monday, January 22nd. Here is the list of films:
