"Dark" Canadian TV series

Back in the late 70s, my local library showed some half-hour long 16 mm films from a Canadian TV series called something like "Dark and Dangerous." It was a mystery/horror series, each episode based on a classic story.

I remember the following:
"Silver Blaze" with Christopher Plummer as Sherlock Holmes.
"Mrs. Amsworth," a vampire story by E. F. Benson
"The Ugly Little Boy," a time travel story by Isaac Asimov about a Neanderthal boy accidentally brought to the present.
"The Mannikin," by Robert Bloch. (This is a story about a warlock whose hump on his back is really a malevolent Siamese twin brother. This isn't the story "Mannikins of doom," which became an episode of "Monsters," a different Canadian TV series.)

Does anyone know anything about this series?

I looked around a bit and found that the title is apparently "Classics Dark and Dangerous."

Malcolm McDowell played the main character in "The Mannikin." So they must have had a budget for stars.
