Re: I Just Watched...

And here I was feeling elevated 'cause I moved junk around to create a mock up of the dining and kitchen areas in my house addition. Thankie, but realize I admire all the work you do too. It’s mostly figuring out exactly what’s failed & then how to repair it. Tenacity. You have it in spades on ...

Disasterina reminds me of Dee Snider from Twisted Sister who nailed that look decades ago: https://rockfm-cdnmed.agilecontent.com/resources/jpg/7/1/1614011695517.jpg (yawn) people's hobbies fascinate me- I also watch cooking videos and antique restoration videos even though I'm sure as **** never go...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

OK, I just requested Majority of One from the library.
I am particularly offended with non Asians playing Asians in movies usually because of the stereotypical affectations. As I recall Guinness does none of that, but I’ll take another look. I’ll post my impressions later.

I can relate. Used to climb inside the duvet cover when changing it. Then I learned the inside-out roll-up method. So much easier. After years of gently scrunching and pulling up panty hose straight….the technique becomes a quick skill for changing your duvet cover. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3...

Heebie Jeebies: LOL Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell (1968) has been shown on TCM before...recorded it as a double feature with HAUSU ’77. But the character's name is Berry-Berry, not Berry. The actors are just being true to the writer's creation. By the way, Evan Evans plays a role in the movie. She'...

Re: In my own little world

We must wait a few month before we can paint the wood because it is treated lumber. (snipped) finding bits of nails which have migrated two inches into the soil. It will all have to be dug out and sifted. We have estimated that this will involve approx. a full ton of soil! (snipped) My usual practi...

https://i.imgur.com/pbe8gqW.jpg Love your wire trellises. Looks like the original was made of dismantled wood pallets. https://i.imgur.com/Youizvh.jpeg Nice finger poking the prickly pear. The last tree I had removed was 80 years old and some large roots were left in the yard. A trail of mushroom/f...

Re: I Just Watched...

Thanks all for the suggestions- I just requested Pelham One Two Three from my library. Apparently there’s a remake, I had to search out the one with Walter Matthau, thanks for mentioning him. Heh, they had to dumb down the title of the remake to 1 2 3. I watched The Godfather only once after initial...

Jeanette Basinger, for one, has discussed how difficult it is for actresses in their later careers to play ordinary women. Instead, they play Exaggerated Women. That’s an interesting observation… https://media.tenor.com/images/9ea59202e28d0bd67bdf50bb90b42296/tenor.gif … realizing I’ve become an Ex...

UGH, I have a book to warn you all from buying: Steve McQueen King Of Cool Tales Of A Lurid Life by Darwin Porter. MrTiki picked this up at a thrift store thinking I’d like it, oy. Just the cover-all photos of McQueen shirtless in beefcake poses- tells you what the author is focused on. I randomly o...

Re: May 2024 Schedule Posted, Asian Stars featured

Well, I’m excited…I haven’t recorded/watched anything on TCM since January. I LOVE the Carnival highlight on May 3rd, being a sort of “carny” myself but most likely already have seen what's scheduled. Highly recommend Tunes Of Glory on May 22nd if you haven’t seen it. My memory of the story is faint...
