We need to watch it on You Tube ... Embedding Function doesn't work here. Sorry.
I tried to find it for a good 15-20 minutes and I seem can't find the clip that Lzcutter wants to share it with us!

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
Hi,
I still think it's too early for a Remembrance feature - the end of the year isn't here yet....
But, I am very glad they included Eleanor Parker; I thought she would be missing, but kudos to TCM for including her.
I had no idea that Jon Finch had died... Moira Lister and I dined with him at Browns Hotel in London about 25 years ago... Sad, they're both gone now...

I agree that is a nice setting but am not all the thrilled with the song. As an aside also I'm a little weary of that big stylized font they use on most everything now.

The revised end of the year memorial, TCM Remembers, is supposed to begin airing this evening on TCM.
It's up on YouTube: Be sure to watch all the way to the end. Really.

Be sure to watch the revised memorial all the way to the end, past the credit.

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
I thought it was good before. It's even better now.
Though they took out that marvelous edit between Hal Needham making a soaring motion with his hands to the shot of the car in the air, I don't think anyone will mind.
Some things I like about this year's TCM Remembers:
I like that they placed Virginia Gibson and Matt Mattox next to one another, both dancers in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
I like that in the section of the song that says
"may we write it all down
in cursive light."
they included the writers who passed away this year.
I like the fizzle of dust that appears in the air between Jack Klugman and Charles Durning.
I like the way Audrey Totter looks as the word 'image' is heard.
I like the series of smiles, especially Kim Hamilton's.
I like the scene of Robert Nichols looking up into the air, then his disappearing shadow as he turns away from the door.
I love that they used that scene of Harry Carey Jr. being touched by the bible passage from The Three Godfathers when the lyrics say
"may our stories catch fire
and burn bright enough to catch God’s eye."
I like that when they adjusted the segment to add Joan Fontaine, they showed her pulling apart the curtains as the music plays
"like fireworks we pull apart the dark"
Most of all, I love that last shot of Peter O'Toole. Made me cry like a baby.

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
I watched that thing at least 2-3 times over the course of over a day and half and I get goosebumps seeing all the legends that passed away ... These are true legends and being a man my age ... I learned to appreciate the talents that they brings and the smiles that they entertained us all of these years ... I recorded it on my DVR and I will be playing it again, again, again, and again.
Goosebumps Galore ... I salute TCM for doing an outstanding job in TCM Remembers 2013.

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
Wendy there are several shots of lights or images going out. Right out of the gate with the shot of the Andrews sister in front of her is a light bulb being removed. The shot of Johnathan Winters being wiped away on the piece of glass. There's another that escaped me at the moment. But they have always done a good job on trying to match lyrics with images when they can.
They took out a still of Esther Williams and put one of the newly departed. The final shot is the best.
BTW, is it me or does the man in the theater bear more than a little resemblance to Mr. Osborne?

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
Yes, those images are the ones that stand out at first for me... I'm always trying to figure out what the story is that TCM is telling, for the first few viewings. Then as time goes on, I start to listen to the words of the music, and I see what great time and artistry goes into the making of the piece each year.
And now that you mention it, it does certainly seem like RO.

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
Wen, I liked how you dissected and described the latest TCM Remembers. I do like it better now though I have a problem with Joan Fontaine's individual tribute. Your description is going to make me go back in and review it again. I've felt sad enough. Now it's time to look at TCM's editors' genius. Thanxx for pointing it out.
MovieMan...I agree with you about the Robert Osborne lookalike.
TCM...they listen and they know how to do This.
I love this channel.

Re: TCM Remembers 2013
I do think the actor does look a little like Mr. Osborne, and I am so grateful to TCM and the editing artistry for these special tributes. I do love me my TCM!
I was most affected by Eleanor Parker's passing for some reason, but I loved her day of films, and I was so happy when TCM updated the TCM Remembers.
