Looks like May's schedule was partially posted. A lot of repeats from the last three months.

Beyond the Forest is amazing. I saw it in a theater at the Portland Art Museum. I wish that it could be released or shown in some capacity.

It looks like William Powell is possibly May's SOTM. I would be fine with that selection. I am a fan of his.

I wonder if BEYOND THE FOREST could be shown at the TCM Film Festival.

Rights issues primarily affect TV airings moreso than theatrical screenings.

That's a good idea. A screening of Beyond the Forest would be a wonderful way to celebrate WB's 100th birthday. LOL.

Yeah, it is. I havent seen it in almost 25 years. :( They used to show it on on TCM years ago (the last time I saw it) Wish they could clear up the rights issues. A damn shame.

Thank you for the notice. TCM released information for May sometime this morning. I am working on a summary and hope to publish the first pass later today.

Per MovieCollectorOH's list, Beyond the Forest has been shown on TCM exactly one time, in November 1994.

We all know the classic "What A Dump" quote from Elizabeth Taylor.
This is the movie it came from. (Beyond the Forest)
I guess Eddie Muller could try to get the film as maybe it is Noir.

That's unfortunate. I was 10 in November of 1994. Safe to say, I probably didn't mark it for recording in the TV Guide.

skimpole wrote: March 16th, 2023, 2:13 am Rather than having a WB tribute, one idea for a month long tribute would be to look at last year's Sight and Sound poll winners. There are some movies TCM should show even if it would take a whole evening to show (Shoah, Satantango, West of the Tracks). There are movies that TCM hasn't shown for a long time (The Godfather, Mirror, Killer of Sheep, Ordet). There are recent movies which TCM might as well show now (Portait of a Lady on Fire, Moonlight, Parasite, Under the Skin, Zama). And there are other movies which I don't think TCM has ever shown (Mulholland Dr., The Gleaners and I, The Shining, La Maman et la Putain, Goodbye Dragon Inn, The Colour of Pomegranates, The Cloud-Capped Star, Love Streams, Magnolia, Melancholia, Army of Shadows, Distant Voices, Still Lives).
I think the average TCM viewer would detest the majority of those movies.
