Yes. A few years ago in London I attended what they called a "live" screening of The Great Escape commemorating the anniversary of the actual event. After the film they live streamed interviews with David McCallum and John Leyton.

So sorry to report that Sir Michael Gambon (1940-2023) has died. I've seen him on stage so many times and have also enjoyed his performances in film and television miniseries.

The last time I saw Michael Gambon on stage was in 2005, when he played Sir John Falstaff in Henry IV at London's National Theatre.

I think the first time I saw Michael Gambon on stage was in 1983, in Christopher Hampton's Tales from Hollywood. He played Odon von Horvath.

Terence Davies (1945-2023). I am very sad to report that one of my favorite directors has left us. My favorite among his films are The Long Day Closes and Of Time and the City, a documentary about his native Liverpool. RIP.

Yes, it's very sad about Terence Davies. A wonderful film maker. He was also a great fan of classic cinema.
