Oh I see, I saw your quote, Joe, and misread it as Maven's guess, not your clue to her.

Director George Marshall, Mari Blanchard and choreographer Kenny Williams rehearse a dance number for "Destry" ( I love that woman in that film)

What a great photo, one can only imagine the stories behind each knickknack on the shelves, or each photo on the wall.mongoII wrote:

Thanks, PinkPeril. I believe the center photo could be Fredric March.

Maybe they are people she's costarred with in the past.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Yes indeed, that would explain the photos on the wall of Freddie March, Walter Huston and Boyer, all of whom appeared in pictures with Mme. Colbert prior to 1934.charliechaplinfan wrote:Maybe they are people she's costarred with in the past.

A Very Special Happy Birthday to two of my all-time faves: Mr. Duryea and Mr. Scott!
Also a less enthusiastic one to Mr. Steele. Still haven't been able to forgive him for what he did to Lennie.

Another reference I don't get. Who's Lennie?

Lennie is the character Lon Chaney portrayed in the film OF MICE AND MEN. Bob Steele played Curly, a tough little runt who always picks on Lennie, leading to the classic scene where Lennie, after taking Curly's punches, turns the tables on him.
LOVE that cartoon. The Cagney stance is perfect for the Monster.
