*CANDIDS*
Re: *CANDIDS*
What a suave picture of Lon Chaney! And a nice one of Judith Anderson, just as I remember her in Edge of Darkness and Laura.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Chaney was an extraordinarily good-looking guy when he was younger. But, sadly, he aged rapidly and badly due to his excesses. You can see the first major change in appearance by comparing his Larry Talbot in HOUSE OF DRACULA to his next portrayal of the part only three years later in ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN. From then he really started to go downhill.
Hard to believe Alan Hale was only 58 when he passed. Even in his earlier films like THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT and THE STRAWBERRY BLONDE he looked older than that.

What a marvelous photo of Stany..love that it is on her chair, too. I think this is my favorite of her! Thanks Joe.

Me? No sir, I haven't. Nor even on TCM. Why?mongoII kindly wrote:CarrieLiz have you ever been in movies?
Re: *CANDIDS*
Why? Because you have the looks of a movie star. You remind of those actresses in the 1940s and 1950s. I hope you don't mind.

Mind? No indeed! It's a lovely compliment. But--forgive me if I'm being thick-headed--I can't help but wonder whether it is meant for me, or for my avatar: Patricia Morison.
