Miss Goddess - Loved your new Avatar ...
Regarding John Dehner (check out his resume at IMDb - He died in 1992 and was working until 1988) - His Credits is ridiculously long and watching television during 70's, 80's, and 90's that I literally saw him in one form of another practically every other week and then some.
Speaking of him - he is one of my favorite CHARACTER actor ever graced on Television and Film.
thanks, eric! i think actors like dehner and anderson were in many ways the foundation of 50s-70s television. i can't imagine the TV landscape without them. i'm glad to slowly be learning the names to go with these familiar faces thanks to the people here & at tcm.

Never knew his name before: Peter Whitney...yet knew him so well, particularly as one of many incarnations of a backwoods patriarch in scads of western shows. I think he even tried to cut off Chester's hand in one!

Was it Groucho Marx, Jackson Pollack or Lee Strasberg who was determinative?

I'm Fred Mertz! I guess my choice of Sanford Meisner as an acting teacher and a baseball game as the ideal setting for a proposal tilted the scales, huh?
I'm Fred Mertz, too! I picked the Eiffel Tower , Moira......
