I like this film and it was good to see Mickey Rooney get this opportunity.HoldenIsHere wrote: ↑January 15th, 2023, 1:36 pm Carroll Ballard's THE BLACK STALLION (1979), adapted from Walter Farley's novel, is scheduled to air at 8:00 PM Eastern tonight (January 15).

I would like to recommend TRIBUTE TO A BAD MAN that is coming up today, Saturday, January 21st, at 4 p.m. Eastern, mainly for Miklos Rozsa's stirring, poignant, sweeping, beautiful "Western" score that always sends chills down the spine and tears down my cheeks.

Thanks, Bronxgirl for this recommendation. It's great to see you here! You've been missed.
My favorite Miklós Rózsa score is the one he wrote for Korda production of the THE THIEF BADGAD.

Oh Holden, thank you so much for those kind words. That's also my favorite Rozsa score, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD. DOUBLE INDEMNITY comes in second and TRIBUTE TO A BAD MAN third.

I stupidly forgot to mention that I first heard Rozsa's score for TRIBUTE TO A BAD MAN on YouTube, where one can listen to the entire soundtrack; the film itself unfortunately has only an abbreviated version.
(and check out KNIGHT WITHOUT ARMOR whenever TCM airs it, as it contains another of my favorite Miklos Rozsa scores -- beautifully romantic Russian themes)
