Olivia De Havilland on Sixty Minutes Tonight!

Post by Sue Sue Applegate »

She looked wonderful for 96 as she greeted author David McCullough in Paris! (This was Morley Safer's visit with McCullough, the second part filmed in Paris.)

What brought her France? "A Frenchman," she said!

Author David McCullough was being honored at the American Ambassador's home in Paris, and she showed up!

She was so cute and coy, and was standing in the reception area at the beginning of the segment. Then they filmed her seated with McCullough on a couch chatting.

I watched it. Olivia was her charming self aged to perfection (white hair and weight gain). Her demeanor was that of Melanie in GWTW. Bless her.

I just watched it ... and I wanted to thank you for bringing it to our attention Sue Sue ... she looks fabulous and I could not believe how her skin looks so ravishing for a delightful lady of her age. I appreciate this notice and I just love the way she was respected by David McCullough; an author that I admired a lot.

Thanks Sue Sue! :D

Does anyone have a photo so we can all see how lovely Olivia looks at 96. A great lady.

This photo was taken in 2006

With her daughter Gisele Galante Broida this photo was taken when she is getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom award when Bush Jr. was our President.

Here is a more recent photo ... taken a month ago.

Hope this helps ... Allison.

Those photos are lovely, Kingme! Thank you so much! There is always hope that she might attend the Turner Classic Film Festival in 2013. If she does, I'm sure Gone With The Wind will be a film she will introduce, and possibly The Heiress(1949) or To Each His Own(1946), her two Oscar-winning performances.

Here's a link that dear Cinemaven shared on Sue Sue's Blog on the TCM threads to view her short appearance on 60 Minutes:

If that link doesn't work, select videos, and look for 60 Minutes, Morley Safer/David McCullough, Paris Interview.
